"My dad left us to go to Lisbon, Portugal, when I was 13. Job opportunities were better in Portugal. In Brazil there was economic hardships. He was a manager at a food factory there, but it closed, so he moved to Portugal willing to do anything to make money for his family. He ended up getting a job delivering newspapers which started every morning at 3 am. We came to Portugal a year later, once we sold enough personal assets to afford the travel. This wasn't so hard, though, because we didn't have the means to bring everything with us. We were content to start over in Lisbon. This caused my parents lots of grief though with all of the stress. My mother started dating another man online. I caught her on my computer. I knew, but my father didn't. I told my mom if she wanted to have sexual conversations with other men, to at least clear the chat history on the computer. Eventually my parents got divorced when it all came out on the table. The chat guy didn't work out either for my mom. But she eventually met another man who is now my step father. She is pregnant, and having a baby, my new sister named Bruna. Sometimes bad things happen, but they work out for the best. Many Portuguese people are pessimistic, but I try to see life with my glass half full. Without this situation I wouldn't have a new baby sister. People are allowed to make mistakes. We all make mistakes. But this doesn't mean that people are bad. You just have to find the good in them."

No Brasil tivemos dificuldades económicas. Eu apanhei-a no meu computador.
